About Jon
Dr. Jon Wiese was born and raised in Longwood, FL. After completing his high school education, Jon attended the University of Notre Dame graduating with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2016. While there, he met his wife, Colleen (Iverson) Wiese who is a native of Dubuque, Iowa. Dr. Wiese completed his medical degree in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he also completed his residency and internship in Ophthalmology. The Wiese’s welcomed their first child in 2025.
Dr. Wiese has been deeply engaged in medical education during his tenure, serving as both a medical student and resident representative with the Academic Status Committee at the University of Florida. He has also served on the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) Accreditation Review for the University of Florida College of Medicine. His medical interests include cataract surgery, retinal disease and treatment of macular disorders.
Dr. Wiese enjoys spending time with his family cheering on the Fighting Irish, playing board games, watching movies and enjoying their son grow and learn each day. “We are so excited to come back to Dubuque where we look forward to raising our family and contributing to such a wonderful community.”
